Barbara H. Smith, known as the “Celebrity Speaker Trainer,” is an international speaker and author. Two of the most important skills in our lives are communications (effectively articulating a thought or an idea) and selling (solving a problem with a product or service). As an entrepreneur in the communications space, Barbara and her team trains speakers and others who want to sell their product or service but need to communicate better, so they can save time by using the most effective words and non-verbal cues, which translates to an increased bottom line. She is an executive coach, a business strategist, actor, and a tv show host. Her winning edge originated at the intersection of pursuing undergraduate and master’s degrees in computer information technology and her life experience as a black female in a white-male-dominated industry. With THIS as her foundation, she founded BHS & Associates, LLC in 2012 to offer customized corporate training programs, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. She is certified in the lastest standard in DEI and enjoys executive coaching to create cultures of inclusion. A media darling, Barbara has made appearances on a variety of tv, and radio shows both nationally and internationally, including The Doctors, Authority Magazine and more. Additionally, Mrs. Smith is the host of The Empowering You Show, airing live each week on POD.TV via Amazon Fire, Vimeo, FB Live, and Roku. In all her work and media appearances Barbara H. Smith uses her time, energy, and platform to showcase small businesses. Her organizational and training skills build confidence in others with straightforward, easy to understand communications strategies and techniques. She has a givers heart and serves the women and children of Natasha House, a transitional home for homeless women and their children. Barbara loves her family and is the mother of three sons, and a grandmother of nine. She currently resides in Hampton Roads, Virginia with the two of loves of her life, her husband Robert and her 83-year-old mother (mom-manager), Queen Agnes.
