He has worked in Sydney , Canberra and Auckland. Bernie is an individual, couple, family and trauma therapist. Bernie has specialized in working with families of adolescents, and in particular, working with young people who are suicidal. He has also counseled veterans of Vietnam and other wars, conducting trauma exposure therapy and helping these veterans with their reintegration into their relationships and families. He is dismayed at the societal lack of concern for young people and works to heal broken families and relationships, and deals daily with the impact of family turmoil on young people’s mental health. Bernie did the psychosocial grunt work for this book and worked up the case studies. Bernie is a private therapist and lives and works in Sydney, Australia
