And I write "young adult" novels that root in all of those: THE LONG SHADOW, my Spur-award-winning 2018 title, sends three teenage girls on an adventure that tests abolitionist efforts in 1850 Vermont. It's Book 1 in the Winds of Freedom series, with Book 2, THIS ARDENT FLAME. Book 3 is THE BITTER AND THE SWEET. New is 2026 is my first collection of poetry, THRESHOLDS -- all about the transitions I've gone through, and maybe you have, too.
