Bev Godby is a senior associate and personal change management coach at The Giftedness Center in Dallas, Texas—a consulting practice helping people to discover and effectively deploy the power of their unique design in making critical life and career decisions. She specializes in guidance during two particularly challenging transitions of life—Start-Up Adults—college students and young people entering “work-life readiness”, and Women in Transition—woman who, at any age, are facing a major life-altering role change, i.e. divorce, death of a spouse, children leaving home, etc., creating unanticipated core identity issues. Bev holds degrees from Wheaton College and The University of Texas at Dallas. A former educator and audiologist, she combines her love of story with her desire to help others to hear the unique value written into their own narrative, shining light on a discreet pattern of motivation embedded in some of their most rewarding moments throughout their life, and then showing them how to use that truth in practical ways that can move their lives forward. Her work reflects a personal mission to spread, “the gospel of giftedness”, through individual as well as corporate engagements with clients that are seeking to discover “best fit” solutions, each time with the goal of helping others learn the importance of making intentional choices that can lead them to discovering a life of greater satisfaction and purpose. Bev has been happily married for 45 years and is privileged to have been the mother of three grown daughters who have each brought in their own amazing “sons of the heart”, as she calls their husbands, to animate and expand the idea of family, which has now led to the exquisite joy of grandchildren, giving her five of God’s best gifts that continually delight her with brand-new expressions of wonder, love and grace.
