"The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it…" Bob Jakes was born in the Wiltshire town of Swindon, England UK but was brought up in the second city of Birmingham, where he still lives today with his family and their pet Chinchilla, "Bugsey". He attended the University of Birmingham, attaining a BA in English and Creative Writing and today works full-time as a freelance writer. With a longstanding interest in animals and their welfare, and with his writing experience as well, Bob decided to combine the two into a book. The result was To Bee: A Budding Beekeeper’s Book, in which he explains how anyone can start their very own Bee Hive Colony right in their own back garden, care for them and enjoy the fruits of their labour, including fresh nutritious Honey. In his free time, Bob enjoys being outdoors as much as possible, travelling, exploring different cultures, cycling, rock-climbing and hiking. He also loves more contemplative pursuits and is a keen chess player. Bob would love to one day become a bestselling author and emulate others who have made a significant contribution to the writing world, bringing a range of books to readers of all ages and educating them with the benefit of many years of experience.
