Brenda Spalding is a talented writer who has received several awards. Her awards include medals from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association for Honey Tree Farm, The Turtle Thieves, The Snake Traders, and The Preserve. Sailing Away to Nod, one of her children's books, also won an award from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association and two international awards.
Her expertise in publishing and marketing makes her a regular guest speaker at writers' conferences, book clubs, and writers' groups.
The author is a past president of the National League of American Pen Women- Sarasota Branch, a member of the Sarasota Fiction Writers, Florida Authors and Publishers Association, and the Florida Writers Association, and is on the board of directors for the Florida Writers Foundation
