Reading stories should never be a chore. You want to read a story for a while and keep reading, not to finish, but because it's fun. Each page should make you want to know what's coming next rather than check the page count or percentage bar until it's over. A story should be a challenge; a riddle; an adventure; an escape; a reward. If you want formulaic genre fluff to pass the time, don't read my books. Seriously, don't. They contain intricate plots, unusual characters, unexpected turns, and a tiny amount of science. Not science you have to know anything about - just the kind that makes weird stuff in the world seem plausible. What my books do not contain is tired cliches, gratuitous word-porn, rebooted plots, or unexplained loose ends. If you enjoy authors like Kurt Vonnegut, Michael Crichton, or Ray Bradbury, or if you've ever binged Black Mirror or Lost, then I encourage you to check out my stuff. I'm a completely independent author with zero commercial backing, so please enjoy my work knowing that it wasn't manufactured by a corporation to sell a million copies. It was purely crafted to take you to another world, inspired by my daughter's heart transplant. My stories are a tribute to her anonymous infant donor. I try to write the stories that they never got the chance to tell, to ensure that brave donor had an impact. They made the world a more interesting place. I'm always looking for feedback to improve future works - please let me know specifically what you like or dislike in your review.
