Bruce Young is the third generation of Youngs to minister in Japan. Bruce’s life in Japan began as a one-year-old when his parents fled from the Communist occupation of China in 1948. After graduating from Christian Academy in Japan, he attended Covenant College and Covenant Seminary, where he met his wife, Susan.
For the first twenty years of ministry in Japan, Bruce and Susan planted churches in Yokkaichi and Nagoya. For the next ten years, they mentored in spiritual renewal in the greater Tokyo area. For their last sixteen years, they served in the Spiritual Life Department of Mission to the World, mentoring missionaries all over the world while maintaining relationships in Japan as consultants.
In 2020, they retired from Mission to the World and now live near Chattanooga, Tennessee. They have three children and ten grandchildren.
