Carl D. Smith is a proud Iowa native. He has been a doll salesman, sandwich artist, roofer, minister, substitute teacher, pharmacist, librarian's assistant, Specialist in Poison Information, roller rink DJ, cash management assistant, data center network engineer, and writer. He is a lifelong fan of fantasy and science fiction. Carl has wanted to be a writer since he first read “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury in 5th grade. The author still resides in the city where he was born. His interests include reading, the Chicago Cubs, the Dead Milkmen, ancient Rome, archery, sweet corn, old Marvel comics, sumo, trading cards, and gas station hot dogs. He has a beautiful wife and two wonderful children, to whom he promised to take to Disneyland if his writing ever makes him famous (I may have to extend that offer to include grandchildren at this rate). Most of all, he wishes people would find a way to help others more often, even strangers, with empathy and lack of judgment.
