Caroline was inspired to become a midwife following the birth of her sister at home when she was eight years old. She has now been a midwife for nearly 50 years. At 82 she regularly runs a Postnatal Group twice a week under the auspices of the NCT (National Childbirth Trust) having been an NCT Antenatal Teacher for 47 years. Caroline has been a Government Advisor, she set up one of the first Birth Centres in the UK, she has been President of the Royal College of Midwives, she set up the first research based Continuity of Midwifery Care Scheme in the UK. Caroline specialised in home births and active and moving about births. She has advised midwives in Australia and Scandinavia on Continuity of Midwifery Care. She has been married to Giles for nearly 60 years, they have 12 Grandchildren - 9 of whom she was the midwife for. Caroline is freely available for advice and support. She really loves being with Mums and Babies.
