When I was ten, I started writing short stories and poems, as well as faithfully writing to dear diary every night. I aspired to be a writer, but took a major "detour," when I became a nurse, a wife, and mother and then moved with my family to Croatia, where we've lived for the past 29 years. I've always loved books - I memorized Green Eggs and Ham when I was three and was excited when I could finally read to myself, drinking in stories - mysteries, suspense, romance, and adventure. As a teen watching my parents' 21-year-long marriage disintegrate, I longed for a story that would share in my pain, tell me that I wasn't alone and that even though my family was broken, I was not. As I wrote, I discovered how life-giving writing is and I can't seem to stop!
