Chris's second novel, Vamped, The Turning (Paranormalice Press, LLC, Spring 2019) won First Place/Gold in the 2020 Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Awards. Her first novel, Light A Candle: Chase the Devil Away (Paranormalice Press, LLC, Fall 2019) won First Place/Gold in the 2019 Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Awards. (Category: published book, blended genre: horror/urban fantasy) Her novella, Inky has been described by readers and reviewers as "Stephen Kingish". Chris Holmes grew up in northern New Jersey. She has always been an avid reader. Her tastes in both reading and writing lean toward horror and the paranormal. While her stories have horror themes such as vampires, contracts with the devil and demon possession, there is minimal blood and gore and an emphasis on good story telling and well-developed characters. She writes to entertain readers and provide them with a page-turning escape from the real world. Chris has worked as a graphic designer in Advertising for over 35 years and has also designed over 300 book covers, including her own. She lives in Central Florida.
