In 2019 it won the North Somerset Teachers' Book Award for the Best Read Aloud and also won the Surrey Library Children’s Book Award 2020. It also won the inspiRead2020 book award, selected by Nottinghamshire librarians. 2021 will see publication of the third in the series, 'The Sea Wizard's Secret'.
