To say I enjoy life is somewhat of an understatement; actually, I love life and if one looks closely at the photo I provided for this biography, it tells a great deal about who I am. I have grey hair showing and lines on my face and I am wearing...what? I am proudly wearing my Coast Guard Auxiliary flight suit and have just landed after flying a four hour patrol over the Gulf of Mexico. I belong to the all volunteer Coast Guard Auxiliary, but I won't explain what that means because Wiki does a good job of explaining the CG Aux. I could show you photos of me during my youthful college years at Western Michigan University or ones of me working as a freelance television news cinematographer/videographer or as a teacher, but those years are in the past. I keep moving forward...working on a bucket list, while the grey hairs are multiplying and the lines are dividing into numerous tracks upon my face. I know about hair coloring and photos that are airbrushed to erase years of stress and life and memories. But you know what? I never was Elizabeth Taylor or Marlene Dietrich or Angelina Jolie. Well, I might try a little hair coloring and if enough people were to buy my writings, I might have a nip or a tuck. Ahh, but then I'd have to stop my pursuit of life. As the ageless ball player Satchel Paige said, "How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you was?" Actually, I've told you alot about me, if one can read between the lines. In the meantime, I will continue to write stories about people: their losses, their growth, their struggles, their defeats and their victories. It does take a few years to understand some of that, so I hope you overlook my grey. In the meantime, read Truman Capote, John Fante, Carson McCullers, Tennessee Williams or Shakespeare. And, of course, The Walking Man.
