Corey Maher has experienced quite a few triumphs and dismal failures in just about every facet of his life over the last 50 years. As a result of his roller coaster experiences, finding the humor in everything has become his modus operandi. At the age of 38, after failing in business and in love, Corey decided to give professional acting a try. For over a decade now, he has worked on big-budget blockbuster movies and Emmy Award–winning television shows, alongside some of Hollywood’s most prestigious talent. But after experiencing a devastating accident on set in the fall of 2024, Corey was forced to take a break from the stage and undertook the burden of writing down his story to share with others. In his debut book, "The Backstory : Scenes and Stories from my Unscripted Life", Corey rewinds the reel on fifty years of family, friendship, failure, and show business. Told with unfiltered honesty and a wicked sense of humor, The Backstory isn’t a self-help book on how to make it in Hollywood (thank God). It’s a raw look at a life full of wrong turns, hard lessons, and the challenging moments that can pull us forward. Corey lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Rebekah, and dog, Johnny Cash.
