Dan Brotzel is the author of a collection of short stories, Hotel du Jack and a novel, The Wolf in the Woods (both Sandstone Press). He is also co-author of a comic novel about an oddball writers' group, Work in Progress (Unbound).

He won the 2018 Riptide Journal short story competition, was runner-up in the 2019 Leicester Writes competition, and was highly commended in the Manchester Writing School competition 2018.
