Dan Hicks is Professor of Contemporary Archaeology at the University of Oxford. His new book The Brutish Museums has been described as "A startling act of conscience" by Ben Okri OBE, "A call to action" by Professor Bénédicte Savoy, "A real game-changer" by The Economist, "Destined to become an essential text" by The Sunday Times, and "A beautifully written, carefully argued book” by the Guardian. "It's difficult to argue that he is wrong”, claimed a full-page review in The Times. The Brutish Museums has been named one of the New York Times "Best Art Books of 2020". Dan is also a Fellow of St Cross College, Oxford, and Curator at the Pitt Rivers Museum. In 2018 Dan was Visiting Professor at the musée du quai Branly in Paris.
