Daron Acemoglu is an economist and Institute Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), widely recognized as one of the most influential and frequently cited economists in the world. He is the winner of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel in 2024 (with Co-Laureates Simon Johnson and James A.
