Dave Dougherty (website DaveDougherty.Today) is a real-life American polymath who has experienced success in a large number of very diverse endeavors. He was a Captain in Army Intelligence, an engineer working with steel, refractory metals, and copper and brass, a Professor of Management, Business, and Computer Science, a Registered Professional Engineer having qualified in four engineering disciplines, a computer & information systems entrepreneur who pioneered in client-server processing, the use of ARPANET, the Cloud, and relational data base applications. He is arguably the world's most prolific programmer, having written between three and four million lines of code for many different industries and business models. An avid historian, he built one of the nation's premier collections in gold and silver ancient and medieval coinage to bring history to life. In Arkansas and Missouri, he lives on a large ranch with his wife, and has been a radio personality discussing problems through the lens of history. He has authored over 20 academic papers in addition to his books.
