David Flink is the Co-Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer of Eye to Eye, a non-profit mentoring movement for students with learning disabilities and ADHD. He has been featured in The Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The San Francisco Chronical, ABC News, PBS, and NPR, and he has spoken at colleges and universities across the country and internationally. David graduated from Brown University earning Bachelor's Degrees with honors in Education and Psychology and continued on to Columbia University to earn his Master's in Disability Studies. David was diagnosed at a young as with ADHD and dyslexia. Although his parents and teachers frequently reassured him that college was in the cards, he would have found that message more actionable, and useful, if it had come from a peer, a person with a learning difference (LD). With that in mind, David co-founded Eye to Eye in 1998 while a student at Brown University. Eye to Eye, with over 50 chapters in over 20 states nationwide, is the only national mentoring movement that empowers young people with LD by giving them a mentor who shares that experience. In 2010, he was awarded a Prime Movers Fellowship sponsored by the Hunt Alternatives Fund, which supports emerging and established social movement leaders who are developing innovative and inclusive approaches to social change at the local, national, and global levels. In 2011, David was named one of the New Leaders Council's "40 Under 40." Most recently, David was elected to the prestigious Ashoka Fellowship. Ashoka is dedicated to achieving large-scale social innovation and is the largest network of social entrepreneurs worldwide.
