Thanks for visiting my Amazon Author Page. I hope you will enjoy reading (or listening to) my books, "The WOW Factor Workplace: How to Create a Best Place to Work Culture" and "Heartfelt Leadership: How to Capture the Top Spot and Keep on Soaring". I encourage you to come back to check out my next two books coming in 2021: "Women on Top: What's Keeping You From Executive Leadership?", and "Ready, Set, C-Suite: Secrets to Leading Extraordinary Teams."

If you or someone special to you aspires to be the very best kind of leader, one who inspires everyone around them to be the best they can be, you've come to the right place. You should find each of my books easy and enjoyable to read, full of incredibly compelling true stories about amazing leaders in real companies. These are the kind of books everyone SHOULD be reading in MBA school: books that bring to life what you really need to know to become the best and most beloved leader on the planet.

Each of these books highlight my own lessons learned as I worked my way up the leadership ladder in the male-dominated Fortune 150 high tech world. Better yet, these books also share the real life stories of truly beloved leaders who took their companies to the top of their respective industries ... some in segments otherwise plagued by low profits and high turnover. By weaving my own leadership stories with those shared by beloved leaders like Garry Ridge, Chairman and CEO of WD-40; Howard Behar, former President of Starbucks Coffee; Colleen Barrett, President Emeritus of Southwest Airlines; and more, it is my intent to inspire you and instill in you the self-confidence to believe that you, too, can be a best-ever boss. Armed with the practical knowledge you will find in these books, you will be able and take your own career and your entire organization to the next level and beyond.

Who's Deb? After obtaining both my Bachelor's degree and my MBA from the University of Rhode Island, I spent over 25 years in technology power-houses AT&T, IBM, Fujitsu, and Arrow Electronics. I led sales, global business operations and professional services organizations with teams that could always be trusted to deliver WOW results...especially in situations others believed to be impossible. I must give most of the credit for perfecting my leadership skills to a couple tremendous role-models, lots of leadership books, and the advantage of participating in phenomenal corporate leadership training back in the days when AT&T and IBM focused on developing high-potential women. And, like most everyone, I learned a number of lessons from some managers who reinforced what NOT to do.

Eventually, after years meeting with C-level executive teams all across north America, often as the only woman in the room, I felt compelled to do something about the lack of women in the C-Suite. In 2009, I founded a leadership development firm, Business World Rising (originally as Business Women Rising, Inc.), dedicated to accelerating the advancement of high-potentials to the senior leadership ranks of major corporations. While I thoroughly enjoyed every day of my corporate career, helping aspiring leaders ramp up their leadership game has been the most fulfilling aspect of my career.

I encourage you now to crack open these books and soak in everything they have to offer.
