So, her childhood was filled with things like cooking casseroles and watching films of open-heart surgeries. You could usually find her either reading her favorite children's books, running around the church, or on the stage. Later in life came a Communication Degree, and she now enjoys putting pen to paper. Her writing often revolves around what matters to her most: family, faith, food, and fun! Currently residing in Texas with her husband, Deedra is also a mom enjoying their three teenage boys and two silly dogs. She homeschools, has been performing in theater for over four decades, and is actively involved in national advocacy...notably as the Founder of Dysgraphia Awareness Day. When not working on her next book, Deedra keeps it simple—she enjoys half-sweet iced tea, dinner on a patio, and movies that either make you laugh a lot, really touch your heart, or both.
