My name is Diana Dirkby, and I am a mental health consumer living with schizophrenia. I write fiction. Diana Dirkby is a pen name. During my career as a university professor, I published papers and books in research mathematics under my real name Paula Tretkoff, so I wanted a different name for my fiction work, hence the pen name. I was born in Sydney, Australia, and now divide my time between Texas and Alaska with my spouse, who was born in Brooklyn, New York. My first published novel, "The Overlife, A Tale Of Schizophrenia," though fiction, is based on authentic experiences of my mother and myself with paranoid schizophrenia.
