Douglas Boin, a historian with degrees in classics from Georgetown University and the University of Texas at Austin, is the author of ALARIC THE GOTH (W.W. Norton), which was named to The Economist's Best of 2020 list. He currently holds the position of Full Professor of History at Saint Louis University. His essays have appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and at TIME, among other outlets, and his writing has been nominated for a PROSE Award from the Association of American Publishers. His next book will be released by W.W. Norton in 2025.
