Dr David "Roots" Chapman is an author, explorer, science educator and natural living expert. Born and raised on the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda, exploring and learning about the natural world around him has always been at the core of his life’s passion and purpose. With iconic personalities such as the arctic explorer Matthew Hanson and marine activist and inventor Jacques Cousteau as early heroes, David has made it his life’s mission to both encourage and facilitate exploration and education of the natural world that surrounds us in order to promote environmental appreciation and foster environmental literacy. In this quest, David has travelled around the world to locations that hold ecological, cultural or historical significance in a bid to further his own appreciation and understanding of our unique planet. This has included living and working in the ancient lands of Ethiopia, climbing the heights of Mount Kilamanjaro in Tanzania, exploring the forests of Ghana and the mysterious Blue mountains of Jamaica, visiting the serene giant redwood forests of California, diving to the ocean depths in the Caribbean Sea as well as many other locations globally. David has authored and published several books including a children’s environmental book series, a manual for economic empowerment and building wealth and a soon to be released parenting handbook on unlocking the brilliance of black boys. David also acts as lead facilitator of the Living Roots Center for Science, Health and Education and hosts his own YouTube channel.
