Drew Meyer is a pastor and leader that is passionate about the local church being the vibrant life-giving influence she was called to be. He was born into a Christian home but his family was soon torn apart by alcoholism, drug abuse, and conflict. His life has been categorized by God-moments that have allowed him to see the real Jesus in the midst of the chaos. From his own story, he has seen glimpses of what the church can be. He has seen life void of God and life filled with God. He has a hope of seeing the local church be all that God has called her to become. Drew has not had a traditional path to leadership in the church. As an engineering student at a state university, Drew began to realize that God can use anybody. It was in that sphere that his eyes were opened to the God-potential in everyday situations. After college, Drew worked as a nuclear engineer for the US Government. It was in that job, that Drew and his wife, Tanya prayed a simple prayer saying, "Where ever you want to take us, we will go." God ended up leading Drew and his young family to Iowa where they didn't know anybody. It was there that his ministry to college students started and he has been ever since. His love and faith for the local church has only grown. This has led him to write his first book, Discovering the Power of Prayer, which is a personal book articulating his conviction of the power of prayer from this own story and experience with Scripture.
