My name is Dustin Bloomquist, and I was born and raised in Omaha, NE. I attended the University of Nebraska graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in business administration, focusing on risk management. I met my wife Yvonne in 2016, and we soon moved to Jacksonville, FL where we now live with our two children Matthew and Zahrah. Currently I work as the manager of a team of Power BI developers at one of the largest FinTech companies in the world. My team builds interactive dashboards that provide the key metrics and data insights the executive leadership need to stay at the forefront of our industry. All my life I have been interested in computers, technology, and finance, with a passion for sharing my knowledge with others. I have always had a wonderful ability to take complex ideas or concepts and break them down into everyday language using analogies to help people understand. This has been extremely useful in my career as business intelligence often involves complex calculations and connections between the data. The ability to not only grasp the complexities, but also easily explain them, has allowed me to speak with programmers and developers just as well as the executive leadership of a company. I hope my love of teaching and ability to explain things in a simple, easy to follow manner, will help my readers expand their knowledge and grow their curiosity. If you read one of my books and feel I have helped you understand the subject better, please leave me an honest review, I would love to hear about your experience.
