Elizabeth Ducie turned to creative writing in 2006 after 30+ years as a technical writer. Twenty years later she received the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women in Publishing Summit. It's been a busy and fun-filled two decades, and she hopes to continue in the writing/publishing field for years to come. Elizabeth's early work with Sharon Cook on two collections of short stories led to her belief in the power of self-publishing and the establishment of her own imprint, Chudleigh Phoenix Publications. Her debut novel, 'Gorgito's Ice Rink', is set in Russia and based partly on her travel experiences. It was runner-up in the Self-Published Book of the Year Awards in 2015. Elizabeth then moved on to writing the Jones Sisters international thrillers before turning to crime and the Coombesford Chronicles, cozy mysteries set in an English village. To date, she has published four in each series. Elizabeth also writes The Author Business Foundation series aimed at helping writers set up and run their own small businesses. The latest part in the series deals with the topic of Self-Publishing. Elizabeth is a member of the Crime Writers Association. She is a regular speaker at the Women in Publishing Summit and frequently leads workshops at Swanwick Writers' Summer School; and at Literary Festivals in the southwest of England. Elizabeth admits to spending far too much time on social media, but has met some great writing buddies that way.
