Although Emily didn’t know writing books was in her future, she’d prepared for the eventuality her whole life. With her four sisters, she spent her childhood reading classical fiction, playing dress-up, and having tea parties. Growing up in a small town in Southern Nevada kindled wanderlust in Emily. Between studies at Brigham Young University where she graduated with a BA in Humanities with an emphasis in English, she lived in Paris, Lisbon, and the Azores. During nearly twenty years of marriage, she and her husband have moved their family seventeen times between five states. They’ve lived in Boston, Washington DC, Dallas, and San Francisco, and they finally settled near Salt Lake City, Utah, where she enjoys mountain views, hiking, and biking, and she pretends to love skiing.
