Eric Overby is a Certified Surgical Technologist, educator, author, and creator of Eric.Unmasks. Drawing from years in the operating room and now the classroom, he creates books, educational content, and the Eric Unmasks app to help surgical technology students connect what they learn with the realities of the operating room.

His writing also reaches beyond surgery. Eric is the author of poetry and reflective essays exploring time, presence, work, community, memory, and the ordinary experiences that shape our lives. His Note to Self essays were originally published as a column in The County Line, a Kentucky newspaper.

Whether writing about the operating room or everyday life, Eric’s work is rooted in curiosity, reflection, and a simple belief: there is always something worth learning when we take the time to look a little closer.
