Erin Phillips believes that stories teach the heart to believe, and tries to fill every second with stories, whether it’s an audiobook while cleaning, a movie with her hubs, or just snuggling up with a good book. She is a Christian author who writes young adult fantasy and suspense novels. While not all of her works have explicitly Christian messages, all of her stories are inspired by her faith and seek to explore Biblical truth. She wrote her debut fantasy novel, The Keeper, during the 2013 NaNoWriMo event, and published it in 2015, with a stand-alone sequel, The Varken, to follow in 2017, learning along the way about the process of bringing a book from first draft to self-publishing. These novels were re-released with updated covers, editing, and formatting in 2023. In 2017, Erin wrote Polarity, her first suspense speculative fiction novel, after taking Ted Dekker’s The Creative Way writing course. A Crown of Chains, a fantasy retelling of the Biblical story of Esther, releases October 25, 2022, and A Bond of Briars, a fantasy retelling of Ruth, slated for 2023. Besides writing novels, she also writes and publishes Christian musicals with her husband at The Faithful Troubadour Publications. Erin Phillips graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a B.F.A. in Costume Design and Technology, and lives in Raleigh with her husband, Jeremy, and their happy corgis, Parker & Fable.
