Rabbi Radler earned a BA from Hofstra University and Rabbinical ordination from Yeshiva University, RIETS. His many interests spanned diverse genres; Talmud, Civil Rights, Martial Arts and SouthPark (to name a few). He read everything he could get his hands on - textbook to comic book. To balance his intense work life, he read fantasy novels. He seemed always on a search to read a great sword fight, finally concluding that he needed to write it. The Flying Lion is filled with sword fights...hopefully you readers who also seek a good sword fight will find it here. An avid historian, Evan found that holding the appropriate weapon helped him relate. His collection grew exponentially as he explored different periods of history. The more he read, the bigger the collection grew. Radler died suddenly, leaving this novel & his large sword collection. It has become a whimsical custom to gift swords from 'The Rabbi Evan C. Radler Memorial Sword Collection' to people who 'earn' them. New honorees are reminded that a sword is a dangerous weapon, used effectively, it should never need to be unsheathed.
