Gabby Mallory is a 12-year-old author who loves basketball. As a young student-athlete developing her skills, she wants to inspire other girls who are passionate players of the sport. Gabby’s mission is a family affair. She co-authored Gabby’s Big Move with her mother, Aisha Ward, who also balanced school and basketball in her youth. When reflecting on her hopes for Gabby’s Big Move, Gabby states, “I want to inspire girls that love basketball to never let anything bring them down, no matter how big or small. As Gabby adapts to her new team and home, she realizes something important. No matter where we may be, if something matters to us enough, we will make it happen. I just want to encourage other girls to keep going.”
