Gerald Rennett is an independent author whose work spans science fiction, children’s stories, and landscape guidebooks. He began writing in 2013 with his debut novel The Returning, followed by a series of sci‑fi short stories exploring near‑future technology, cosmic mystery, and the quiet strangeness of the universe.

He is also the author of several children’s titles, including Mwgi to the Rescue and its Welsh edition Cadi I’r Adwy, as well as the well‑loved guidebook Rutland Water: A Guide from the Belle, now in its third edition.

2026 marks a major year in his sci‑fi catalogue, with the release of The Collector in March, The Custodian in August, and the second edition of The Returning in September.

Gerald lives on the Welsh border and is a Mynediad‑level Welsh speaker, drawing inspiration from the landscapes, languages, and stories shaped by growing up in West Wales and a lifetime of travel across the Far East, the Sub‑Continent, and Europe.

Mae Gerald yn byw ar y ffin Gymreig ac yn siaradwr lefel Mynediad o’r Gymraeg, gan dynnu ysbrydoliaeth o’r tirweddau, yr ieithoedd a’r straeon a’i ffurfiodd wrth dyfu i fyny yn y Gorllewin ac o oes o deithio ar draws y Dwyrain Pell, yr Isgyfandir ac Ewrop.
