Gess LeBlanc is an award-winning researcher who has worked in the fields of teacher and leadership preparation for over 20 years. He is a sought after speaker on the topic of developmentally and culturally responsive teaching and is an Associate Professor of developmental and educational psychology in Hunter College’s School of Education. As an expert in the field of child and adolescent development, he has served as an educational consultant to school districts, state agencies, and non-profit organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of City Year New York, Inc., the Roundabout Theatre Company, and Harlem Center for Education, Inc. He is a past recipient of Hunter College’s Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Association for Equality and Excellence in Education, Inc.
