I grew up on Mark Twain and Robert Heinlein and was addicted to Mickey Spillane and John D. McDonald. I have no education to speak of and lucked my way through a career as a Paramedic and Firefighter. Twenty years ago someone suggested I try Law Enforcement and now I'm a Detective for a mid sized Texas town. Through it all I’ve been able to turn a few bucks writing for trade journals and travel magazines. Once I ghosted a handbook on bow hunting for a guy who knew how to do it but not spell it out. “The Fall and Rise of Cain” is a daydream I had on the beach one day after I hurt my knee in the surf. I am not and never have been the hero type, but I know several personally. I put some of them together to build Richard Cain. I think you’ll like him.
