Hector Rivera is a Honduran author whose writing is deeply rooted in real life. Though his desire to write sparked at age ten, it wasn’t until he was fifteen that he penned his first story—a short, unpublished love tale that opened the door to a lifelong pursuit of storytelling. His debut horror novel, Perched on the Rooftop, and its upcoming sequel, The Guardian in the Corner, are chilling accounts of events he and his family lived through. While the suspense and drama are fictionalized for effect, the core experiences are based on true events—turning his horror work into a powerful blend of memory and imagination. Hector continues to share stories that blur the lines between reality and fiction. He is currently working on adventure tales inspired by his childhood, including The Boy and the Snake and The Black Whip, and one of his most significant goals is to write a book honoring his grandfather’s remarkable life. Whether delving into horror, adventure, or heartfelt biography, Hector Rivera writes to preserve truth through story—and to inspire others to embrace their own.
