Helen Graham has worked as a knitwear designer and a filmmaker and co-founded a community film festival. Now she's mostly researching and writing historical fiction. She has three children and five grandchildren and lives in Edinburgh. Based on the life of her ancestor 'The Real Mackay: Walter Scott's Favourite Comedian' is Helen's debut novel. Her second novel, 'Disappearing Acts: The Real Mackay's Granddaughter', follows Lottie after her grandfather's death as she navigates the highs and lows of Victorian theatre on her own terms.
