Helmut Mohelsky has been a student of Zen Buddhism for many years. He trained with Albert Low, a Zen Master and Director of The Montreal Zen Center. The practice of zazen permeates Helmut’s life and changed his approach to photography. Helmut, born in Austria, has received his MD from the University of Vienna. In 1971, he moved to Montreal, studied at Mc Gill University, and became a psychiatrist. He has practiced psychiatry for thirty years. While working, he majored in cultural anthropology and earned a post graduate degree in psychiatric rehabilitation at Boston University. Presently he lives with his family in Montreal.
