About the Author Living a multi-hyphenate lifestyle, J.D. Durden is a dedicated teacher, culture consultant, author, and songwriter. With several Teacher of the Year awards on her shelf, she is unapologetically committed to a human-first philosophy within education, balancing her life as a wife, mom, and aunt—while living creatively. As a songwriter, her graduation songs are among the most played/streamed songs for graduations worldwide. She intensely studies environments, sets off ripples of change, plants seeds of hope, and is a pretty good kid's lunch maker and fixer of random things. J.D. Durden founded Education Renovation, a consulting and publishing company. E.R.'s mission is to "Keep what works, improve what doesn't" in each unique school environment. E.R. guides a roadmap for school leaders and teacher teams to be the ultimate project managers in repairing, renewing, and rebuilding their dream schools. J.D. Durden has a B.A. in English Literature, a Master's in Business Administration and Project Management, and is Certified in Leadership Innovation.
