J. Macgregor Wise is Professor of Communication Studies and Social Technologies at Arizona State University. While he is predominantly interested in questions of culture and technology, media (old and new), and surveillance, he spent his childhood in the Middle East and South and East Asia, making questions of globalization never far from his writing (and making his book, Cultural Globalization: A User's Guide, his most personal). He is co-author of the award winning book Culture and Technology: A Primer (now in a second edition).
