JR Thompson is a Christian novelist whose life involves much more than writing books! JR Thompson was born and raised in the Appalachians, which is where he got saved and baptized. Unlike other grade school boys, JR took his Bible to school with him on a regular basis. While in high school, he went to the altar at church and told the Lord he was willing to be used however God wanted to use him. Wow, did God ever take him up on that! By the time JR Thompson was 19, he had come to understand that God had placed a calling on his life to work with troubled boys. He mentored a couple of boys who didn't have father-figures in their lives, which God used as a stepping stone to have Thompson become a therapeutic foster parent where he worked with at least 20 different boys over the years, and of course God wasn't finished with him yet. Several years later, JR Thompson was called of God to head up a program for troubled teenage boys. At the present time, JR Thompson and his wife, Hannah, keep themselves busy tending to two steers, a horse, and a black lab.
