James Selvy is an Arizona native and longtime Tucson resident who spent 36 years in the defense industry supporting U.S. troops. After retiring in 2021, he began writing the kinds of stories he loves to read: stories where adversity is not a dead end, but a path toward courage, friendship, resilience, and growth.

He is the author of The Cursed Sword series and Growing Up: Our Childhood Survival Guide, a humorous memoir inspired by the shared childhood stories of his family. With a technical mind and a storyteller’s heart, James writes about loyalty, hope, and the journeys that shape who we become. He continues to write from Tucson, where desert life and imagination fuel new tales of myth, legend, and real life.
