My name is Jeremy. It is my conviction that the Bible holds some of the most crucial lessons for life and leadership. I believe biblical instruction holds the seeds, water and sun, needed to produce a fruitful harvest. For the leader, this is why embracing biblical leadership is so critical. This has become my personal mission, “Serving Christ by cultivating biblical leadership through writing, equipping and communications.” I live in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada; where I serve as Lead Pastor with Mountainview Church. I have not taken the most direct career path to get me where I am today. Both in education and experience, I have moved in and out of the business, and ministry worlds. I don’t believe this happened by mistake. God has clearly meshed these two career paths to provide me with some valuable insight into reaching others. Over the past decade, I’ve served in a wide variety of ministries, including youth, college, men’s, small groups, outreach, camps, and over the past couple of years, preaching and teaching. Before God called me into ministry, I sent some time in the marketplace, specifically selling and coordinating guest experiences within the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. These positions have particularly impacted my view on outreach and evangelism. I often find myself wondering how a guest would experience a certain church or ministry. Currently, my role as Lead Pastor provides numerous opportunities for preaching, teaching, networking, and leading in a variety of capacities. When I’m not working on my next sermon or project, you may have gathered that I enjoy writing. But I can only take so much time alone! Connecting with other people energizes me, whether face-to-face or online through social media. Other interests; I’m a podcast and audio book junky, based more in non-fiction genres with leadership content or How To themes. I like anything made by Apple and find myself dabbling in photo and video editing from time to time. I’m an average guitar player and percussionist. I’ve always been involved in music and church worship teams. My iTunes playlists carry a variety of genres, all depending on my mood or what I’m doing at the time. And no matter what I’m doing, coffee is a staple. From high-priced espresso to gas-station joe; I’ve tried it all and I’m just happy to get a cup. Lastly, it’s important to remember that biblical leadership begins at home. I need to cherish my time with my wife (Nicole) and our three boys (Jude, Luke and Mark). Outdoor activity with them is often the most memorable. As a Northern family, living and serving in the Yukon Territory, we try to pursue a subsistence life, hunting, fishing, berry-picking, etc. Spending time in God’s creation refreshes us as a family, so we try to engage in a variety of outdoor pursuits, depending on the season. That being said, some days, nothing’s better than a family movie night, with all five of us snuggled on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn. Contact Information Whether you’re interested in leadership, writing, equipping, or communications; it’s time to connect! Please feel free to contact me at jeremy@leadbiblically.com or 867-335-7524. For local contacts, I’d be more than willing to meet and grab a coffee. To fellow authors, I’m always looking for new resources. For Skype or FaceTime users, drop me a message to set up a video-call.
