Jessie Simone Blessing grew up in Dallas, Texas. Her family attended and was heavily involved in a Southern Baptist Church. Her father taught Sunday School and Royal Ambassadors (a group for young boys) and was a deacon for many years. Mom was the secretary for most of her Sunday School groups and sang in the choir. Ms. Blessing started playing the piano for Sunday School classes at age 11 and continued throughout high school graduation. She also taught VBS. One of her favorite activities in Training Union (Sunday night classes) was Sword Drills i.e. seeing who could find a specific Bible verse the fastest. She is passionate about singing and has been in church choirs since kindergarten. After moving to the Pacific Northwest, for several years she attended the Church of Nature saying that she felt closer to God outdoors than in any building. When she returned to Texas to live she started attending a New Thought church. The idea is that a new way of thinking produces a new experience of life. That is the premise the book is based on.
