After more than 40 years in the broadcasting, publishing, and consulting industries Jim Seybert began narrating audiobooks in 2016. His first audiobook was actually recorded in 2010 when an audiobook publisher bought the rights to his book, The One Year Mini for Leaders, and asked him to record it. Fast-forward to 2016: while driving a lonely highway in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, or some other woebegone place and listening to an audiobook, a lightbulb flashed on in his tired brain and he thought, “Hey, I might be able to do that.” Some letters to old friends in the publishing business resulted in lots of encouragement but no solid advice or connections save the offer to introduce him to the founder of an audiobook publishing service, resulting in Jim’s first five books as an official narrator. He now records books other people have written, in a professionally built recording studio. It’s a great gig and he’s earned some prestigious awards in the process. You can find both of his books, the aforementioned “One-Year Mini for Leaders” and “Leadership RE:vision” in print and audio, along with more than 100 audiobooks he has recorded, on the Amazon or Audible platforms.
