John R Schulz was born in Seattle and grew up in that emerald green city full of touristy fun that natives seldom visit. He attended public schools and surrounded himself with nerdish activities at a young age, computer programming, sketch art, and paper pencil role play gaming. A knack for capturing a readers imagination started in early high school as he began to read a number of fantasy and science fiction authors. He loved the idea that his high school creative writing teacher asked if he was reading Stephen King as the young Johns writings had swept up his class with a clever story or two in a similar way. In college John continued to remain creative in writing and published poetry and a short story in his college art fanzine. Having spent a dozen years writing adventure games for Dungeons and Dragons as well as RuneQuest gave him a commanding influence over the imagination of others and a true passion for creating a good and compelling story with characters you fell in love with. John R Schulz lives in the deep green wooded setting of remote Buckley Washington enjoying family and writing that continues to be engaging, compelling, and provocative.
