Jon Ransom's debut, The Whale Tattoo, was published to great acclaim in 2022, and won the 2023 Polari First Book Prize. He was a mentee on the 2019 Escalator Talent Development scheme at the National Centre for Writing and his short stories have appeared in many anthologies and journals including Queer Life, Queer Love. He grew up in Norfolk and now lives near Cambridge.
