The first and last American to have won the Scottish International Poetry Competition, Joseph Charles MacKenzie is a traditional lyric poet of Christian inspiration. MacKenzie has been a poet in residence at the Club des Poètes (Paris), a language teacher in a traditional French lycée, a literary consultant for Vicky Messica’s production of “Rimbaud et Verlaine" at the Théâtre des Déchargeurs (Paris), and has recited poetry internationally in three languages. MacKenzie obtained a B.A. in Humaniores Literæ at St. John's College, his M.A. in French Studies with a Minor in Italian at the University of New Mexico, and an MLS from Texas Woman's University.
