Joshua Cooper Ramo is Chairman and CEO of Sornay, an investment and advisory firm. Ramo was Vice-Chairman and CEO of Kissinger Associates, where he worked for 15 years. He is the author of the New York Times best-selling books The Age of the Unthinkable and The Seventh Sense, as well as No Visible Horizon, a book about his experiences as a competitive aerobatic pilot.

The World Economic Forum has called Ramo “one of China’s leading foreign-born scholars,” and his paper "The Beijing Consensus" is one of the most cited works on modern Chinese economic development. Ramo moved to Beijing in 2002 and was based there for a decade. He now lives in Shanghai. He served as analyst for NBC for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, for which he won an Emmy and Peabody award, and for the 2018 Pyeongchang, Korea Winter Olympics.

Ramo is the founder and chairman of Peace Machines, a Zurich-based effort to use technology to solve critical problems that risk making the world more warlike and that distract from urgent crises of development, stability and equity. Raised in New Mexico, Ramo holds degrees from the University of Chicago and New York University.
